THIS week in Past Times, we have some lovely old images of Soothill.
The pictures are all taken from Norman Ellis's book Images of England: Around Batley.


They are sure to take older readers back to a bygone era – look how quiet Soothill Lane looks without any cars, not like today where they often queuing bumper to bumper at the bottom of the road.

But apart from the lack of vehicles in those days, little seems to have changed.
